Welcome to the homepage for...
The Standing Stones Music Group
We are an informal gathering of folks from Mid Missouri seeking to have fun with re-enactment of music from the Medieval period. We gather folks from the three local SCA shires, and welcome anyone else who might wish to participate. Our activities consist of whatever the group wishes them to. Presently we are doing a bit of Vocal, Dance, and Instrumental music.
For the moment this site will serve simply as a repository for basic information and group files, and a placeholder for a future site of more depth.
Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, January 24th, 2007 at Lady Eleyn Scrivner's house at 4745 Roemer Rd.
(map)
Our normal meeting schedule will be the first and third Wednesdays of each month, and there is currently some discussion of adding the occasional off Sunday afternoon to allow those otherwise busy on Wednesdays to attend and participate.
Feel free to monitor or join our group discussion/annoucements list located at
here.

Ah, Robin - Vocal - Three part counterpoint
This is the first piece we've sung together as a group. I notated a
clean copy from our
original notation. To aid in learning each part we have the following audio renderings:
From Her Grace Dutchess Aislinn on her cello we have the
low and
mid voice lines in Mp3 format.
In MIDI format from the notation file,
all three parts together (emphasis is given to the high line), and the
low,
mid, and
high parts.
The Rose Red - Vocal - Canon
Lady Ingenborg and Master Jose began to teach this tune orally, and we will continue to learn it that way, but we'll also have it here in case someone needs to cheat and sneak a look to remind themselves.
Ay Linda Amiga (Oh Beautiful Friend) - Vocal - 3 part harmony
I am in the middle of re-notating our 3-page handwritten copy and will provide music and midi parts soon.
